About Michelle Lam
Growing up surrounded by family members dedicated to the provision of medical and health services to the community, Michelle developed a strong interest in helping others. After ten years in the investment banking and finance industry, Michelle decided to pursue her interest in self awareness in order to improve the quality of her relationship with herself and those important to her.
Michelle’s dedication to self development has led her to the field of counselling and psychotherapy. She has training in most forms of psychotherapy and has a particular interest in hypnotherapy, mindfulness, family constellations and gestalt.
In the past few years, Michelle Lam has provided counselling and psychotherapy to clients at various low cost clinics in the inner Eastern Suburbs of Sydney (Potts Point, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills) and lower North Shore (St Leonards). Michelle Lam is a Preferred Service Provider for South Pacific Private, Australia’s leading treatment centre and is currently an after hours volunteer counsellor for the AIDS Council of New South Wales (ACON) in Surry Hills.
Michelle Lam provides individual and couples counselling and psychotherapy in Suite 4 on Level 1 of 21-25 Knox Street, Double Bay on Monday and Wednesday (from 1.30pm-9.00pm). Appointments for individual and couples counselling and psychotherapy outside of these hours can be made by prior arrangement.
Michelle also facilitates an open weekly interpersonal psychotherapy group in Room 3 of The White House which is located at 89B Cowles Road, Mosman on Tuesdays between 6.30-8.30pm.
